CQS Participates in a Volunteer Initiative to Reduce Food Waste

June 2026

On Thursday, June 18, CQS joined the open-air market of Nea Ionia in collaboration with the NGO Boroume, supporting the “Boroume sti Laiki” program.

The program aims to reduce food waste by collecting fresh products that remain unsold at the stalls of producers and vendors in open air markets. The food collected is donated to charitable organizations, helping people facing food insecurity. Driven by a spirit of volunteerism and collaboration, CQS employees joined forces to rescue fresh fruits and vegetables that would otherwise go to waste, ensuring they could be used to support those in need.

Through this valuable initiative, we managed to save 139 kg of fruits and vegetables, equivalent to:

  • 417 food portions
  • 1,092.54 kg CO₂ eq. emissions prevented
  • 1,751.4 m³ of water saved
  • 20 Athens–Thessaloniki trips by a conventional car

At CQS, social contribution and sustainability are an integral part of our company culture. As part of our CSR strategy, we actively participate in volunteer actions that create a positive social and environmental impact. Through these efforts, we contribute to generating value for local communities while helping build a more sustainable future for all.
